The point of the evening was to find a mentor for your business idea and work with them to make it happen.
OE recruited 14 mentors- all of whom has started up and run successful businesses and were now well connected- for those who signed up.
We had the chance to talk to them through 'speed meeting'- we were split up into teams of 3- and each team had 9 minutes to talk to each mentor and sell their idea to him or her.
It was a great experience- you learn a lot when you have to market yourself and your idea in a short span of time- and convince other people you're worth investing in.
The mentors themselves were encouraging, but also probing- they quickly pointed out flaws, and asked questions that really made you think about the feasibility of your plan.
I found a great mentor, and I'm hoping to start my project this week!
