History

The town is dripping with history-
The libraries and museums are fantastic of course, but even the little stores & pubs have their own stories:
The Eagle & Child is a popular pub where Tolkien and other great writers gathered to read out passages of their work to each other;
Alice's shop is a candy store that the Alice that inspired Lewis Carroll used to frequent!
It's not unusual to see world famous professors and researchers riding bicycles with their black coats flying behind them- a quintessentially Oxford sighting.
